      birth

The wonder of it all: a baby takes his first breath, my daughter learns a new skill, the magic of the earth and our solar system. As a photographer one of my greatest joys is capturing memories from that moment in time, because it all seems to pass by so quickly. The older I get the more I appreciate how ephemeral life really is.

August bloomed with flowers in every hue imaginable, our garden beds are overflowing with zucchini and tomatoes. The bounty of summer! But on the last day of August a bit of rain fell in the morning, a reminder summer is coming to an end. I watched as an Anna’s Hummingbird sat on our trellis and stuck his out his tongue to catch the raindrops knowing fall is just around the corner.
